2018 Travel Recap!

I once saw a quote “Traveling is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.” I truly believe that.  Richer not in terms of money but richer in memories, knowledge, and culture. And in my case I was fortunate enough to experience all of that and more from my recent travel in 2018. Scroll to see my 2018 Travel Recap!

(January 2018) This trip is hands down my favorite and most memorable one in 2018. Some of you probably already know but if not well; I am Filipina. I was born In the Philippines and moved to the United States when I was younger. So technically Philippines is what I call Home. My family still lives out there. So every time I get to visit I always have the best time! #itsmorefuninthephilippines!

Also one of the reasons that this trip was memorable was because of our Non-profit organization “Angels of Hope Ministry”. My mom is the founder of this organization and it’s mainly focusing on helping children. In 2018, we were able to do an outreach in Zambales. We provided food and clothes to a village that was destroyed by Mt. Pinatubo (volcano) back in 1991. The village was wiped away and families were forced to evacuate their houses. They relocated on top of the mountains and been living there ever since. These people are usually called Aetas and they have less resources than we do. We learned that these families would walk at least 3-5 hours to have access to food and water. Most of the children did not go to school and started a family at an early age.

On this trip, we explored: Manila, Cavite, Alabang, Subic, Zambales, and Tagaytay.

San Francisco

(May 2018) My favorite city! I think I talked about how much I love SF so many times that I probably sound like a broken record by now but I can’t help it. I love the vibe, the people and culture. I love that there are so many places to see and explore. Every corner has its unique characteristics and of course the food variety is endless! My favorite is their: Clam Chowder!

On this trip, we explored: Powell Street, Pier39, Ferry Ride Mission Peak and Mike’s Cherry Picking.

Las Vegas

(September 2018) This trip was last minute. My birthday was coming up and I knew I wanted to spend it elsewhere. So I thought why not spend your birthday in a city where they have the best nightlife & endless alcohol. That’s why my boyfriend and I ended up in Las Vegas for my birthday week.

On this trip, we explored: Las Vegas strip, Fremont Street and All the Vegas hotels.

San Francisco

(December 2018) I went back to my favorite city again but only for few days as we headed to Reno for New Year. I was excited though to still see the Christmas decorations in Union Square. It’s definitely a sight to see!

On this trip we explored: Powell Street, Union Square, and 16th Avenue tiled steps, Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, Boba Guys, Home SF, and Land’s End Labyrinth.

(December 2018) We spent New year in Reno along with my boyfriend’s family. It was amazing because it reminds me so much of Las Vegas with casinos and hotels everywhere just smaller and less crowded. There were also fireworks and music before the clock struck midnight.

On this trip, we explored: Reno downtown, Boomtown, Peppermill, El Dorado, Silver Legacy and Harrah’s.

Lake Tahoe

(January 2019) I am including this one even though technically we went January 1st. But it’s only a few minutes away from Reno and we passed this on our way home.

On this trip, we explored: Squaw Valley Resort.

So there’s my 2018 Travel Recap! I already can’t wait for our next adventure for 2019! Hoping to add New Orleans and Seattle to my list! Where do you guys want to travel this year? Let me know!
